Hey, beauties! If you know anything about me, you know I have a passion for fashion. But if you have ever read any of my articles, you know I love designers who use their impeccable talents to give back to their community.
I recently attended the opening night of Style Fashion Week Los Angeles 2015 at The Reef, Los Angeles, and let me tell you — the night celebrated everything life, fashion and entertainment! The highlight of the night was the Style Me Pink Celebrity Runway Show, which benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation supporting breast cancer research and education. There were a lot of rumors that A-listers such as Taylor Swift and Kylie Jenner would be in attendance, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. But on another note, by the end of the night, the disappointing news didn’t cut the runway short of an amazing and inspiring show.
The runway began with a heart-warming speech by Haute Couture Fashion Designer, Sonia Eta, who expressed how important the Susan G. Komen Foundation is for women in our community. The speeches continued with the royal family of HH, who honored the well-known designer Diego Medel for his long list of extraordinary achievements in the fashion and entertainment industries. Runway guests then had the amazing opportunity to enjoy a live performance of the song “O Sole Mio” by opera singer Angel Ng.
Now, here’s the part everyone is waiting for: the runway! Viewers got to watch the famous Haute Couture celebrity designer Pol’ Atteu’s gorgeously sophisticated looks of his 2016 Spring/Summer Collection dance down the runway. The line featured the exclusive royal fabric Moshee Min in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. What could make that all even better? Even Atteu’s adorable pooch was wearing a one of kind Moshee Min puppy dress to wag her little tail in down the runway.
As I mentioned earlier, the show was incredibly inspiring since many models were breast cancer survivors and all walked in elegant, graceful and pink gowns and dresses to support such a fun event for such an amazing cause. Next to these beautiful souls walked a celebrity-packed stage. Some celebs included actress AnnaLynne McCord from "90210;" award winning actress and model Melanie Marden; actress Alice Amter from "The Big Bang Theory;" actress, Carolyn Hennesy from General Hospital; top model Katie Cleary; and Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe and Princess Antonia Schaumburg-Lippe.
By the end of the show, guests were popping champagne and smiling from ear to ear after seeing the impact that fashion can have for a better cause. Check out my interview with designer of the Style Me Pink Fashion Show below.
