For those of you in the four-eyed community, there are struggles that we have to deal with in order to see clearly. Whether you’ve needed glasses from the start or needed them when you were twenty (like me), we’ve experienced them all. I’m sure that you can relate to some of the struggles that I’ve come across in the past year of having glasses.
1. You have to search for them in the early and sometimes dark morning when you already can’t see.
2. You finally put them on and look in the mirror.
You see facing back at you a mess that you have to take care of before you leave. You almost wish you kept your glasses off.
3. When you’re trying to style your hair, you take your glasses off so nothing gets on them, but you can’t see to style your hair.
4. I’ve never put make up on, but I’m sure it’s even more of a disaster.
Sorry, girls.
5. You’re finally ready and in the car.
It’s bright and sunny -- perfect for sunglasses -- but you can’t see without your glasses, so you have to deal with it.
6. Throughout the day your glasses are constantly sliding down your nose.
7. And it only takes one time to miss and then smudge your glasses where the finger prints don’t go away.
8. On your way back to your car you run into someone you haven’t seen in a while.
And they say, “I didn’t know you had glasses; you look smarter.” And then you stand there like.
9. You make it home and you feel the dull headache from wearing your glasses for too long.
10. You remember that you have a date with your partner and unfortunately have to put your glasses back on even though you have a headache.
11. At last your date is over.
It was perfect. You looked good, had fun, and came home happy. You lean in for a kiss good night and you knock your glasses into your date's face. Great.
