Mom and Dad, I know that you had the right to name me whatever you wanted. I could be a celebrity's kid and be named after a fruit or something. But with that being said, surviving in a world with so many people of the same name can be tough. All of us commonly named people know the struggle!
1. You would think that they'd have your name on a souvenir keychain, but they are always sold out.
2. When someone calls your name in public and more than one person looks.
3. You sometimes don't respond to your own name because you assume they're not talking to you.
4. When they call your name at Starbucks and the drink isn't yours.
5. Your last initial is often part of your identity.
6. And sometimes your last initial is common too...
7. You often question your parents' creativity.
8. When your waiter/waitress has the same name as you and your parents feel the need to point it out.
9. After introducing yourself, people will say, "Oh, that's my ________'s name" and you have to stand there unimpressed.
10. When talking about someone with the same name, you feel like you're speaking in the third person.
11. Ideal usernames are probably taken.
12. People still find a way to spell your name wrong.
13. You see random people drinking out of Coke bottles with your name on it.
14. You have anxiety about naming your future children because you don't want them to suffer the way that you did.
15. At least everyone pronounces your name correctly... until they get to your last name.
