We live in one of the most judgmental generations of all time. Man have to act rough and look a certain way for them to be considered “manly”. Woman are expected to look like models and act a certain way to be considered beautiful. What this world has forgotten is that we are all different and women are starting to be just as strong and powerful as men. As a woman myself I have had to deal with the labels that society has put upon women. For example, if you’re a woman you can’t expect to be called beautiful if you’re overweight right? If you’re a woman you need to be more feminine and look a certain way so that you can please the opposite gender.

These are real life struggles that woman of all races has to deal with. As a woman, we are already looked down on as the “weaker sex”. We are underestimated and most times treated unfairly. Nowadays a woman and a man can work the same job, and trust me we definitely can, but that doesn’t change the fact that in some places women are still getting paid a lower rate than man. A woman is more likely to lose a job against a man just because of the simple fact that she is a woman, and this is unacceptable. I don’t say this just because I am a woman but I think that women are the stronger sex. Nowadays we have single mothers that work hard and still keep their children healthy. These are demonstrations of how a woman can success without a man by her side. We are surrounded by strong women who are wrongfully judged and underestimated. As women, we can do so much more than just cook, clean and take care of a baby. We can work and we can work just as hard as a man does, we can play sports and we can own a business. But most importantly, we can speak up.

If you’re a woman don’t ever let yourself be labeled. You are your own beautiful self and you can’t be labeled as something you don’t want to be. No woman should ever worry about being too fat or too skinny. No woman should ever think that they’re not good enough. We are strong women and we are just as valuable as a man. Never forget that no matter how hard they push labels on you, you will push harder and show them that you are a human being that deserves to be treated with respect.

It’s sad that nowadays we have teenagers killing themselves because they aren’t beautiful enough. All these magazines and things that these girls read are full of unrealistic expectations and what these girls need to know are that we are not meant to be perfect. Flaws are what makes every human being unique; and we’ve created this image in younger girls that they must be tall, skinny with colored eyes and long hair so that they can be worthy of someone’s love, and this is not true.

As women we must stand together and show the world just how important women of all races and all shapes are to this society. We are all unique in our very own way and we won't settle for anything less than equality among us. We are strong women.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
