We all have "those friends" who can't stay out past 11 p.m. or change plans last minute. Well, I was that friend. These are just a few of the struggles that we had, and maybe still have to, live with. I feel for y'all. So, hopefully this won't cause too much PTSD!

1. Having a tracking app on your phone.

Not find my friends. Life360. Look it up. So yeah we're double tracked.

2. They don't just text once.

There's no "sorry, I forgot to reply" or "my bad, I just didn't check my phone." If you don't reply within 30 seconds, expect a solid 5 texts and 7 missed calls.

3. Having to delete everything off of your phone periodically because you never know when it will be taken.

I think the most terrifying moment of my childhood was having my phone randomly taken and not being able to clean it out first.

4. They'll stay up until your home every single time you're out.

So basically curfew is based on how tired they are.

5. Calling to say you're going to be 5 minutes late? Forget it.

Maybe because of bad traffic? Or you just lost track of time, right? Nope. Consider yourself already grounded.

6. God forbid you get an attitude...

Life = over.

7. Sleepovers? HA yeah right.

AND ON A SCHOOL NIGHT??? hahahahhahahaha no.

8. If plans change, just go ahead and assume you don't have plans anymore.

9. You get really, and I mean REALLY, good at lying.

10. Having a rehearsed, foolproof story for why you were late.

I mean yeah you're already grounded but might as well shoot for a shorter sentence.

11. That look when your friends tell you to just sneak out...

Yeah no my parents would be in my car grounding me before I even cranked the engine.

12. Better keep your secrets way on the DL because if your siblings get ahold of that...

Yep. Blackmail.

13. Trying to figure out when the best time is to tell your parents that you have a boyfriend.

And have for the past year and a half...

14. Being mom of the group because that's just how you've been raised.

Old habits die hard.

15. Tattoos? Piercings? HAHA yeah right.

16. "What is that $17.29 charge from Walmart at 3 am on Wednesday, November 23rd?"

...chips.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
