"You're too skinny."
"Your butt isn't big enough."
"Your body is a weird shape."
"Why don't you workout to get rid of that extra fat?"
"Are you really going to eat that cheeseburger for dinner?"
"How are you so self confident, when you look like that?"
"You should really eat healthier."
"You're too big to be wearing leggings."
"Your stretch marks are disgusting."
..... This is how society thinks. This is what we're accustomed to. This is what all of the girls in the world fear hearing. This is wrong.
I'm a huge supporter of eating healthy and fueling your body with what it needs (and deserves) to function at the highest level. I'm also a huge supporter of loving your body, being proud of your body, and accepting your body. Through many trials and tribulations I've come to realize that our bodies are always a work in progress. So many people have self confidence issues, including myself at times, so props to all the ladies out there who are proud of their bodies.
Shame on the people in our society that think it's acceptable to body shame another human being. Shame on the people that make demeaning comments about other girls bodies even if they don't realize they are doing it. Shame on the moms, and sisters, and friends that look at other women and put them down because of the way they look.
The problem with society is that we shame girls for not loving themselves, we shame girls for loving themselves too much, and we shame girls for not giving a F%#$ about what they look like.
STOP shaming girls for being proud of their bodies. Stop shaming girls for wanting to better their bodies and stop shaming girls for leaving their bodies alone and accepting themselves as they are.
Too many girls are afflicted by eating disorders in our society. These are most often a direct effect of witnessing negative comments made towards women, or having negative comments made about themselves. Eating disorders are not okay. They are a problem that came along when society started demanding that women be "perfect".
Stop shaming girls for being proud of their bodies. Think about your daughter, or your future daughter, would you want her to feel like she isn't good enough just because of the shape of her body?
Stop shaming, stop guilting, stop being jealous of someone else's body. There are about 7 1/2 billion people in this world, and every one of them is unique. Every one of them should be proud of themselves and their bodies.
