I'm so excited for Teen Wolf to come back, you don't even know. If you're a Teen Wolf fan, and if you've seen the new trailer, you should already know why I'm so excited. But, if you haven't, then I'm just going to go ahead and tell you that there's quite a lot of Stydia. Like a lot. I watched the trailer the other day and screamed for a few seconds. Why, you ask?
If you've ever watched an episode of Teen Wolf, then you know that there are characters named Stiles Stilinski and Lydia Martin. Stiles is based off of Seth from The O.C., or, in other words, the sarcastic, goofy best friend. Lydia is the smart, popular, gorgeous girl that Stiles is helplessly in love with. And, at first, in the first two seasons or so, Lydia acted like Stiles didn't exist.
They were part of the same friend group, but she had other boyfriends, (and he eventually had his own girlfriend) and so they were never romantically involved.
Until now.
And this is why I'm so excited for the next season of Teen Wolf. I've been a fan of them since the first season, and I've seen them grow closer and closer each season with bated breath. The kiss in season three, him saving her again and again and again, or being the only one that is there for her. And, in the trailer, a large part of it was dedicated to them. And the trailer even replayed the kiss. So, I'm really excited because it looks like all of the scenes in all of the seasons are coming to their climax.
I've been patiently waiting for this ship to become cannon. Well, I wasn't always patiently waiting, but I was waiting, nevertheless. And I am hoping that the trailer isn't messing with my head. Those who favor Stiles and Malia said that the trailer was about them, and he was just talking to Lydia about Malia, and he was trying to tell her to pass on something to Malia.
But, I hope there's little to no Stalia in this new season. Like, seriously, gag me. She showed up out of nowhere - and they had little to no buildup into the relationship. She was just suddenly there, and she was cute and funny because she didn't know how to socially interact with others. I didn't watch the last two seasons because I'm at school and don't always have the time to watch tv, but I do want to watch them before the next season; I just hope I have the option to fast forward during the Stalia moments.
The new trailer had a lot of Stydia fans excited, and it angered the Stalia fans because there wasn't that much Malia in the trailer. I can only say that I hope the trailer shows what the actual season will be like. I'm ready to see the continual buildup of Stiles' and Lydia's relationship culminate to something. The writers have been constantly building onto their characters and their relationship since the first season.
And, I'm really really excited. I hope that this season is the best, surpassing even Season 3B, which, in my opinion was the best. And I hope that there's a lot of Stydia. Or else the trailer will have lied to me, and the writers and Jeff Davis will have let me down. I'm depending on you, Jeff.
