Sometimes in life, it seems like the world around us is moving so fast. Faster than what we think we can handle. It throws countless challenges our way and forces us into being overwhelmed. Along with being overwhelmed, negativity can get a grasp on your life. This negative energy brings forth toxic energy into your life. You don't see the good in anything, you push away the people closest to you, you lose motivation or desire, you overthink everything and you begin to question everything. The biggest question you ask yourself is "Why?" Why do I have to go through these things? Why is this happening to me? Why? This negative energy can cloud your mind and force you to not see reality for how it really is. It will cause you to think things are worse than they really are. It can have such a strong grasp on your life that it is hard to turn things around for yourself. Sometimes the only way for an individual to rid their life of negative energy is an eye opening event. An event such as someone getting so lost in negativity that they are forced to make a choice, someone close to the individual telling them the harsh truth, or an event that just opens their eyes.

Once you notice the negative energy, you can take steps to recovery and allowing positive energy into your life. When you let positive energy in you will stop overthinking everything, you will see the good in things, you will be motivated, you will stop questioning everything, and you will start putting your life back together. Positive energy, just like negative energy, can have a major pull on someone's life. You can remove negative energy by removing negative people from your life, staying away from negative events, love yourself, believe in yourself, and stay hopeful and positive.

I speak on this subject from my personal experiences. I had let negative energy get a hold of my life. It was starting to affect school, loved ones, religion, and basketball. I was overthinking everything and I couldn't find the good in anything. I was constantly angry and I began to take it on the people closest to me. I had lost confidence in myself and the things around. Then one day it changed. Someone very close to me took a stand and told me the harsh reality that I was going through. They helped me get my life back on tracked. They made me realize that everyone goes through challenges in life and its all in how you take on these challenges and respond. I realized that I was not the only person who went through things. I began to see the good in things again and I put my life back on track. I had to remove the toxic energy from my life. I am just thankful that I had someone who cared enough to pull me out of the grasp of negativity. If you take anything from my experience, remember to stay positive!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
