Starbucks Drinks As Poor, Unassuming Freshmen At UC Berkeley

As a fan of the cascara latte, I think I might have to switch majors.

Uloop

Triple shot espresso.

Major: Chemical engineering and computer science, pre-Haas.

Favorite ice cream flavor: Adderall.

Where they live: Units, but in reality, the library.

Favorite spot on campus: The dark depths of their dorm room at 3 am in the morning -- until they realized that some on-campus libraries are open 24/7. Seriously, do these people get any sleep?

Pumpkin spice latte.

Major: Political science with a minor in media studies.

Favorite ice cream flavor: Cookies and cream.

Where they live: Unit 1 -- the perfect place to socialize and make friends.

Favorite spot on campus: At every upcoming tailgate, desperate to see that one guy from that one frat again. Of course, the PSL will spend hours and hours before that perfecting that “natural” look in the mirror, even though this person spends no more than 10 minutes getting ready for class. Meanwhile, this PSL individual has an inner dilemma: trying to tell their parents that they didn’t vote for Trump unlike the rest of the family.

Very berry hibiscus refresher.

Major: Integrative biology with a minor in toxicology.

Favorite ice cream flavor: Ice cream? That’s unhealthy AF. But, if you insist, rainbow sherbet.

Where they live: Clark Kerr -- the Very Berry’s favorite method of transportation to campus is their bike or their own two feet.

Favorite spot on campus: The RSF. You’ll see them up at 9 am working on their daily routine. It’s hard to find someone as dedicated both in the gym and in the classroom. Meanwhile, I can’t even walk up the stairs in Latimer without dropping down and passing out.

Cascara latte (or the flat white, you pick).

Major: Conservation and resource studies, or pretty much anything else in CNR.

Favorite ice cream flavor: Pink peppercorn ice cream from Tara’s. Hipster, edgy, sweet.

Where they live: You think that she walks back to her co-op after lecture, but then she gives you an invite from her sorority and now you’re just really, really confused.

Favorite spot on campus: Brunch at Pat Brown’s after an East Asian literature class at 8 am, wearing her trendy Birkenstocks and holding a sea blue water bottle with stickers all over. She’ll always have her headphones in listening to -- you guessed it -- Chance the Rapper’s new mixtape.

Green tea latte.

Major: Molecular and cellular biology, emphasis in immunology and pathogenesis.

Favorite ice cream flavor: Mint chocolate chip -- noticing a pattern here, aren’t you?

Where they live: A single-gender suite in Foothill: a quiet, natural, park-like oasis.

Favorite spot on campus: Lying down in the redwoods right behind the Valley Life Sciences Building, next to Strawberry Creek. Not surprisingly, he’s the only one in the school who really has it together.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
