It's been a while, but for the first time in 10 years, there is a new Star Wars film. Since 1977, the Star Wars saga has been one of the most beloved film series in the world. After the original trilogy, fans were itching for more, itching to have their questions answered. The film's creator, George Lucas, then delivered a new trilogy of prequels. Even though the fans got what they wanted, they didn't exactly live up to expectations. With the films lacking the certain feel that the originals had, fans thought that they would never see Star Wars the way that they did in the 70's and 80's... until now.
With the rights to Star War being sold to Disney for 4 billion dollars, they knew that they had a lot of work to do. The film's new director, J.J. Abrams, is one of the biggest Star Wars fans that there is. He initially rejected the idea of directing the film due to the fact that he didn't know if he could make it as perfect as he, a fan, wanted. In the end, Abrams accepted the job and delivered what we've all been waiting for.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is simply incredible. With the combination of new characters and the re-introduction of the classic characters, fans got exactly what they wanted. Being able to see Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker on screen again is a dream come true. On top of the old characters, the film has the look and feel of an original Star Wars film. With the prequels being bashed for using way to much CGI and everything looking fake, Abrams used as little computer generated imagery as possible. This made the film look like a combination of the old movies and new, creating a fantastic adventure. The film's story itself is very much like the old three were blended together into one, new story, with new visual effects that simply were not available back then.
All in all, Episode 7 is an action-packed family adventure that delivers exactly what we all wanted. With a new menace, Kylo Ren, we now have another evil master of the force to fear, just like the famous Darth Vader. And with the introduction of Finn and Rey, we have new heroes to follow for three more movies. We sure are in for a ride, a ride much like the one that fans went on for the first three films, a ride that made history. The Force Awakens has already made the most money for the first weekend in Domestic Box Office history, and it doesn't look like there are any signs of stopping. Disney and J.J. Abrams truly did their job, and delivered an instant classic and a brand new installment to a series that no one wants to see die. I would give Star Wars: The Force Awakens a 9/10. I enjoyed every second of the film and loved all of it's twists and turns. Bravo, J.J. Bravo.
