Who or what are you allowing to shape your outlook on life, your emotions, your opinions, and your values?
Who or what is shaping your identity?
Who or what is determining your joy, your peace, your hope, and the way you view yourself?
Are you proud of who you are?
What is holding you back from becoming the person you have always wanted to be?
We so often think to fit in, we have to follow the crowd. That to be well liked and accepted, we have to pretend to be something that we simply aren’t. That we have to forfeit who we are in order to look like we have it all together. We hide behind a façade, living in constant fear of the day that our brokenness, our messiness, and the things that we are ashamed of will be put on display.
Romans 8:15 says, “For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’”
Through a relationship with Jesus, you have been adopted as a son or daughter of the highest King and the God of all that is in existence. Let that sink in. You were created with a specific design, a specific purpose, and a unique soul.
Allow Jesus to wreck you with His grace. It changes everything.
You are trying to fight battles that He has already won.
In Him, you are more than a conqueror. Your shame and regret have been paid for with the perfect blood of Jesus and He is waiting earnestly to reshape and remold your entire mindset and your entire life.
He came so that we may find LIFE and have life in abundance. Our life in this world is not promised to be easy, but we have been promised a life that comes with a never-ending sense of joy, peace, and satisfaction, despite our circumstance.
It’s time for us to take a stand and boast in our lives that are being revolutionized by our relationship with Jesus.
Jesus looks at us with eyes that are filled with a love that surpasses all understanding…that is the definition of who we are.
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now STAND. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also find glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:1-5
So rise up and stand in the freedom that has been given to you. Walk in obedience to what the Lord has called you to. No, it’s not always easy and it’s not always going to “feel good”. But our God is constant within our confusion, His hope is unwavering, and He is so much better than anything and everything this world has to offer. You have been redeemed and you have a purpose. Let Jesus come in and light up your life with unimaginable and all-fulfilling goodness, love, and grace.
