Going to popular spring break destinations can be fun, but there are important facets of staying at home that can be just as, if not fun, amazing. Especially when home includes all the stuff you've been missing at college. However, there are several stages that you are bound to go through during spring break:

1. Happiness

Being incredibly excited that you will be home and able to sleep in your bed. There is no place like home. Literally, no place.

2. FOMO

All the first day beach photos. Like, seriously guys, we get it, the beach is fun.

3. Sleep

Sleep all day and feel much better. There is no problem sleep cannot fix. Those other spring breakers may be at the beach, but they aren't getting all the sleep they want in their own, comfy beds.

4. Productivity

Swear to yourself you’re going to get stuff done. You are going to be so productive and so ahead of your peers. They are going to be left in the dust crying because they didn't get as much done on spring break as you.

5. Procrastination

Not getting anything done. It can all be done when you get back to school, right? Productivity is for the weak.

6. All the Animals

Hang out with your dog. Or cat or hamster or whatever. Pets are the best.

7. Binge

Eat all the food you’ve been missing at college. Your mom’s mac and cheese, your dad’s pancakes, all the foods you can’t afford (so basically, anything that isn’t ramen.)

8. Sleep (Reprise)

Sleep some more. Sleep is very important and holds top priority over all the stuff you could be doing to be productive. This is the reason you never get anything done and you should be proud of it.

9. Netflix

Finish that one Netflix series. You’ve been watching it forever. Now is the chance to binge! Remember forever the amazing feeling that comes with seeing that long-awaited finale to your Netflix series.

10. Sleep (Abridged Version)

Take a nap. Again, I cannot stress enough the awesomeness of sleep. Naps are like little gifts in the middle of the day and taking one in your own bed at home is the best feeling in the world.

11. Friend Reunions

All of those friends that don't go to your college? Yeah, this is the perfect time to hang with them again. Chances are some of them are also at home and looking for old friends to hang out with as well. So hang out with all the friends from high school.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
