The Stages Of Spring Break Explained By 30 Rock
The Huffington Post

After a painful two months back into Spring Semester, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel appearing once again. Spring Break is on the horizon my fellow students and it is only a few more weeks until you find yourself on a beach, mountain, or simply snuggled up in bed with Netflix on a continuous loop. Here are a couple of the stages we all go through during the week of Spring Break, as explained by the always hilarious 30 Rock cast.

Last Day of Classes Before Spring Break

To this day it is still a mystery to me as to why Professors feel the need to still go over material on this day. We aren't paying much attention and if we are, the material being taught will soon be forgotten the moment we arrive home from classes. The day we have been praying for since the first day back from Christmas Break is finally here and it's time to have some relaxing fun.

Morning of Flight to Spring Break Destination

After a long few weeks of tests and papers during the dismal Michigan winter, we are exhausted. Unfortunately, it seems the cheapest flights anywhere seem to be at 6 a.m., which means 4 a.m. wake up and staying up until you can finally crash on the plane.

Time Spent on Flight to Destination

Freedom! You are on the plane that will take you to the destination that will finally bring some fun back into your life. Freedom smells a lot like the pleather airplane seats and complimentary peanuts, but you don't care because at the end of this ride, you'll be somewhere cool.

Arriving at Destination

The tiredness and irritation you felt the morning while getting ready for your flight has finally disappeared. You feel invigorated and renewed anticipating shredding down a mountain, playing at the beach while perfecting your tan, or simply relaxing wherever your journey may lead!

First Day at Destination

Spring Break 2k17 has finally begun, which means endless good times with your friends that will find you either laughing at the moment now or eventually down the road. Here is to no responsibilities, except for keeping your liver intact while on this trip.

Days In Between First and Last Day

It's all a blur at this point, but hopefully, you will regain memories of what happened during these five days in between arriving and leaving at some point. Try not to waste them, because the next "break" you get is in another two months and you need to get through finals to finally enjoy that long-awaited time.

Last Day

The dreaded day has come and it's time to once again pack our suitcases and head back to reality. It doesn't hurt to look into transferring to a couple colleges where you are spring breaking while trying to fit all your souvenirs in your once tiny suitcase.

Night Before Flight Home

At this point, you're not getting any sleep because its midnight and you have to wake up at 4 a.m. to get on the flight back home. All that is streaming through your mind is how sad you are that Spring Break 2k17 is over and how tired you are from one wild week of fun.

Flight Home

Well said Liz Lemon, "Blerg!" is the exact word I would use to explain the frustration of returning a rental car, checking baggage, checking in, going through security, and having a rowdy eight year old kicking your seat the entire flight. Just remember you'll be home soon and you can sleep off the frustration then.

Arriving Home

At this point, it feels like your days in the sun was so long ago. Another thought that probably crossed your mind is why do you go to a school in a state that has no mountain top views or an array of endless sunny beaches? It's okay my friend, just two more months until summer and if you made it this far, I believe you can make it until then. Plus spring in Michigan is usually pretty fantastic. Goodbye Spring Break 2k17, you will be missed dearly.

While Spring Break hasn't approached us quite yet, remember your studies come first and to finish the weeks strong. Enjoy your time off, whether it be away or at home, the next two months are going to be brutal. Good luck!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
