Moving into your college dorm is a stressful process and everyone knows that. Even the most organized person gets frustrated. This is what happens when an unorganized person moves in.
Arrangement: Arguably the most stressful part of moving in because you have to figure out who you're going to live with, where and how much it costs. This process takes months and needs to happen before school starts. You could go for the random roommate option which sounds scary but it allows you to develop people skills that are great for life.
Excitement: You're looking forward to move in. You get your freedom back and you get to see your friends again. You get to leave your annoying family and get whatever you want for dinner. You're looking forward to not having a job and a day full of whatever you feel like doing within reason.
Laziness: You do not want to pack your boxes, you don't want to move your boxes into your room and you're not too interested in unpacking them either. The whole process is sweaty, redundant, and quite frankly annoying to do every year. Actually twice every year because there's move out day.
Lonely: You're done moving in your boxes and the realization that your family is gone and you're alone sinks in. You miss them already and mom's eyes brimming with tears breaks your heart as you replay the hugs goodbye in your head. This is the mopey couple of minutes before you tell yourself suck it up and start adulting.
Set-up: You move furniture in a way that you think will work but you always find a problem with it in your 100 square foot room. There is never enough closet space and you have no clue where your stuff is going to go let alone your roommate's stuff. You get frustrated and take a break that lasts a couple hours until you feel more mentally prepared to tackle playing life sized Tetris.
Happy: Your friends move in and you're so excited to catch up and hang out. They can help rearrange your room for the 10th time and tell you that's the best it gets even though to door doesn't open all the way. Anyway, there's so much say and you missed them so much. You look forward to the school year and remember you'll see your family sooner than you think. The future is bright and the schedule is busy.
Shopping: As your days progress you realize there is so much stuff you forgot at home or realize you need. Your parents refuse to send it to you and you refuse to leave your newfound freedom so soon. You're an adult. You can fix your own problems. You got this. So you and your friends take a shopping trip to Walmart where you find even more things you think you need to make your room perfect.
Comfortable: You moved in a couple days ago and all your things are in the best place possible. You have a routine and are happy with how move in day turned out. You're busy days end with comfy nights in your newfound home.
