A friend, someone with whom you have a bond of mutual affection. Well a best friend is ten times that. How do you make friends? Do you just walk up to a stranger and proclaim that you want to be close? No… That's just really really weird. How do you know that you've found the perfect best friend. You start off being cordial to each other and then before you know it you’re throwing shots about each other's life. A conversations go from “those puppies look adorable” to “did he really touch your butt?” in under five minutes. When a friend upgrades to a best friend, what are boundaries?
Stage 1: Being cordial.
Telling everyone that you met this super cool, super chill girl who you just click with and is amazing is pretty much all you do in this phase. This is your honeymoon phase of your friendship.
Stage 2: You can't get enough of her company.
You get really self conscious about how clingy you get. You start to ask yourself questions like, “Should I call her again?” and, “Is double texting okay?” Testing the limits of your friendship occurs in this phase.
Stage 3:The barrier is broken.
Yes! I can be clingy self again. Thank the stars!
Stage 4: Am I into her?
You don't know if your connection is a genuine friendship or sexual. Spending time with her is amazing but you realize that it's a friendship-relationship and nothing sexual. Totally not awkward at all.
Stage 5: The honeymoon phase is over.
You can tell each other the truth, even if you have tell her she needs a breath mint. Ugh, take the punches, good and bad.
Stage 6: Can you say psycho?
When your boo decides to not reply to important messages aka any message you send calls for a major wig out moment. Yup you go crazy, and to whom? Your bestest friend of course!
Stage 7: Siblings fight
Ding Ding! You and and your best friend fight a lot. But at the end of day that's your best friend.
Stage 8: Mmmm, boys.
She loves doing what she loves (boys, girls, sex) but hey, “That's my best friend!”
Stage 9: I spy
Looking for your ex-boyfriend's’ new girlfriend? Just call your detective best friend. She'll get you the dirt.
Stage 10: The disgusting phase
Farts, burps nothing is off limits. It comes with the friendship.
Stage 11: Phone exposure
If your best friend read your text and reply when needed. She has even seen pictures not meant for public if you know what I mean. Yup no boundaries, lasting friendship.
