You are finally done with exams, and that means you are free of classes for three whole months. This also means saying a lot of goodbyes to your friends and moving out of your dorm or apartment. You are emotionally conflicted: you are excited to go home, but also sad to leave. You also haven't gotten much sleep, recently, which leaves you feeling sort of delusional.
You begin the drive home with your parents, and immediately they begin asking you questions all about your friends and the year, your grades and professors, and maybe even relationships. There is no going back now.
You get home and cannot wait to sleep in your own bed and not have to walk far to get food or do your own laundry (maybe). You worked hard all year for this freedom, and then your parents tell you that you better start looking for a job.
You call your college friends in a panic and try to see if they are going through the same things you are.
The friends of your parents see you home and stop for small talk. They ask you about the year and you tell them it was awesome and so much fun, and you really loved your classes. The worst is when they ask you if you are still single and then try to inform you how fun dating in college can be.
You try to maintain your college freedom, but it's hard when your parents missed you and just want to spend all of their time with you. They begin thinking of different ways to get you to stay home.
You love and appreciate all they do for you, and being home is great. It also helps you to appreciate college more. Your parents have your best interest in mind and just want to make sure that you aren't wasting all of their money.
