It is safe to say that most of us do not say "thank you" to our parents enough. I am 100 percent guilty of it. Although I do not express it enough, my parents deserve the world. Many young adults my age feel the same way and our parents deserve to hear our meaningful gratitude. So, here are seven of the thousands of reasons we should say "thanks" more often.
For being there when I need a shoulder to cry on. You have been there through the toughest times, even the emotional middle school years. I'm still not sure how you dealt with me during my awkward phase, but thanks for putting up with that.
For being the strong couple everyone relies on. My parents personify the values they have taught me to have my entire life, and it is amazing to be surrounded by two people who truly live by example.
For always knowing what is best for my siblings and me. It's true. Parents are always right.
For not staying mad for too long. God knows we all make mistakes. Somehow parents are always able to get over their anger quickly, which is a trait many of us should try to obtain.
For supporting our family when times are tough. Thank you for fighting to keep the peace, even when you know that it may be difficult. Thank you for helping not only your immediate family but the extended family as well.
For supporting me in all that I do. You both have done nothing but help me throughout my college journey, and you encourage me to be the best version of myself. Thanks for supporting even my most questionable decisions (like that time I decided I would look good with bangs).
For being the most incredible people I know. It is so hard to imagine how stressful and busy being parents must be, and it must not be easy. So thank you for raising me to be the woman I am today, thank you for providing for us constantly and thank you for being amazing role models.
