Spring forward!

Why We Should Be Excited For Spring's Arrival
Kevin Morrison

This week, we sprung forward an hour to begin what we like to call daylight saving time. Yeah, of course, an hour of sleep was lost on Sunday that we won't get back until the fall. The time change, however, means that spring is on its way to hang out with us for a few months. That being said, here are some reasons why that time change will be all worthwhile and why you the reader should be excited about spring coming.

1. The days are longer.

If you are somebody that despises it getting dark at 6 o'clock every day, spring is your season. We get some more daylight to play, hang out, or just to relax in. The feeling of having a productive day is more possible now since you have more sun to work with. In the end, you feel like there's some breathing room when the clock is concerned -- and you're not left feeling like you need to go to bed at 7 o'clock.

2. Warmer weather.

If you are tired of the winter weather, enough said.

3. The best things happen in the spring.

It's spitting a few sunflower seeds here and there while you watch a tremendous diving catch in the infield and listen to the crack of the baseball bats as you watch America's favorite pastime. It's the croaking of the frogs in the cool evenings, the crisp smell of the spring air, the sunsets, and whatever you else you can put to mind that makes spring special. Spring means drive-in movie season, one of the best times to hang out with friends and family, is upon us. Spring means windows rolled down, listening to whatever (my personal preference is country music you can cruise to) you heart desires. If you are half-human, half-fish, you love this season since pools start opening back up. Or how could one forget about a popular favorite -- cookout season now begins, meaning fun times grilling out and doing cookout games and shenanigans afterward. With spring come some of the best things you get to ever experience. It leaves you wanting more when summer enters behind.

4. Food.

Yes, food! Spring brings to us some of the best kinds of food that you only find in this season. Spring provides you your favorite seasonal fruits and the festivals local towns put on because of them. Along with the fresh fruits, other seasonal harvests arrive with the beginning of spring, making this season something to look forward to if you love to eat. So, food connoisseurs, happy eating.

Spring is among us, readers. Take advantage of the opportunity given and enjoy the season. Dive into something new, enjoy some fresh adventures with friends, or just sit back and relax in the soothing weather. The things that spring has to offer make losing an hour of sleep one Sunday worthwhile. Spring's here. Enjoy it, it's only here for a little bit.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
