Spring Fling Darty Outfits: Boho Babes

As Jason Aldean sings, "A little pretty thing. A little tan leg Georgia dream. She's a rockin' them holey jeans. Baby, what you got goin' on Saturday? You know, words got it, there's gonna be a (DAY) party"

Like that midterm you've been dreading or the formal cooler you've been putting off, day parties otherwise known as darties are swiftly approaching. I'm here to tell you, THE TIME IS NOW. Prepare to immerse yourself in the darty shenanigans that will soon ensue post spring break.

“But what will I wear?" - The Grinch

Although the winter season is coming to a close, the ever so famous quote of the Grinch will always resonate with sorority girls across the nation. As we greet this warm weather, we also welcome new clothes into our closets (excited squeal), and this year the trend is ~*BoHo*~. B is the letter of the season. With booties, bralettes and bangles, the possibilities are endless. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, though; we'll take this one step (or stumble) at a time.

Let's work our way from top to bottom.

Hair: Loose, flowy locks can be your best accessory if done right. If paired with a dainty floral headband or carefree pony tail with some pieces hanging out, your 'do will not fail you.

Think: Lana Del Rey, Vanessa Hudgens

Makeup: Natural colors are best when it comes to darties. Darty hopping is synonymous to tailgate hopping in the fall, except there are a lot less people matching. Wearing natural makeup that will be acceptable for the mid afternoon sun and downtown later in the night (if you pace yourself) will be best. Also, remember to wear some makeup with a little sunscreen in it so you don't burn!

Think: beach wedding

Jewelry: Bangles, bangles, bangles. When it comes to jewelry you have a few options. First, wear lighter earrings, lots of arm jewelry and a hanging necklace. Second, larger necklace, maybe with some turquoise or other colored rock in it and your statement watch (because we don't use our iPhones to check the time right?) Third, big hoop earrings, dainty necklace and a few bangles. Lastly, never forget, rings look great with any look!

Think: Lucky Brand, Free People, Alex and Ani.

Tanks, tunics, rompers, dresses: These items are the foundation of your outfit, what everyone sees first and usually the reason behind, “OH MY GOSH! Can I borrow that next weekend girlie?!" Think flowy, flowers and fashionable. Any neutral colors will work for layering if your top has some cool cutouts to show off your new sexy bralette. However, if you're going the romper route, watercolors and florals will steal the stage this season. Paired with a kimono you'll feel like Beyoncé: Flawless.

Think: American Threads, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters.

Shorts: We are in the 2000's but our love for high waisted jorts has never ceased (except for when we hit that Abercrombie stage in middle school *cringe*). Distressed, high waisted shorts paired with your favorite pair of cowboy boots are sure to get you into any party and stay looking fabulous all day long. If you're not into denim shorts, patterned shorts (much like patterned pants) are totally in. Wearing these with wedges or white converse will be a bar-none way to kill it on the Insta scene.

Think: Tobi, Thread Sense, American Rag

Shoes: Booties, wedges, converse, sandals -- pretty much anything goes. Wear your cutest, but most comfortable walking shoes because you'll be on your feet all day.

Always remember: darties are a marathon, not a sprint! So grab your sunglasses and get ready for some of the best times of your life!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
