Spring is a time of change: April is the biggest month for homebuyers to make a plunge and get themselves a mortgage, Justin Timberlake's voice *It's gonna be May* is constantly screaming in the backburner of our brains, and finals loom just as perversely. Therefore spring is a love/hate season for many. For me? It's my favorite- not the school part, but the everything else part. Here are a few date ideas for me and my non-existent boyfriend to tackle this spring.

Volunteer together.

In the spirit of Big Event which happens every April in Norman, I definitely love the idea of volunteering as a date! The science on happiness points to evidence that people feel more satisfied when they are able to give back, compared to merely acting as a consumer in society. Plus, can you think of anything hotter than a cute guy with a giving personality? No. Nothing. It doesn't exist.

Blackbird on Campus Corner.

I really don't know why, but I've been dying to eat at Blackbird lately. It doesn't exactly make sense, Blackbird is much more of a basic fall date then a spring one. But maybe I wanna feel cozy after being in the cool, crisp breeze all day? The vibes of Blackbird are not only comfortable, but super romantic. If I had a man, we would totally be there.

Go shopping!

Spring is such a huge time for fashion! Get out there and see what the stores are doing for their pre-summer collections. Plus, any guy who would be down to shop with me would be a forever keeper. Specifically, you should make your date about shopping together. Shop for each of you! In my two years of retail, I've only met about 3 husbands who actually love taking their wives shopping only for them. Make it about each other, and talk about what you think would look good on each other, and it automatically becomes way more fun. I may be biased to this one because clothes are my life, but if I got to help pick out jeans for my guy and he actually had a good time, it would probably make shopping my favorite date category ever.

Get a little green.

Go shopping for succulents or other plants at The Greenhouse Inc., go hiking, or check out some of OU Green Week's Events to think a little bit more about how you can impact the earth through your choices.

I mentioned this in my last date list, but it's even more relevant now in finals season and now that the weather is better. Take the elevator to lower level 2. Sneak out to the Canyon Garden underneath the clock tower and have a much more scenic, and less dead silent study date. But seriously, do it for the single people like me! This may be the best way to study for your finals.

Finals may be stressing you out to your core, but it's also some of the last weeks you'll have in Norman to spend with your S/O. Take advantage of the changing weather and make the best of it. :)

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
