No matter where you are going, spring break is a fun and free time of year. It’s not yet summer, but you are very overdue for a hard earned break from school or work or whatever it may be that is bogging you down. One of the most important parts of traveling is your mood and attitude. Even if you aren’t traveling at all but are just taking a break from your regular routine, music can help you escape from reality. Music has amazing healing powers and is scientifically proven to be able to contribute to your mood and emotions. We all want nothing but good vibes this spring break so here are a few tunes you need to have in your repertoire no matter where you are going or what you are doing this spring break!
Some throwbacks are always essential for a good time. There have also been some artists who have been dropping the hottest hits of the year recently, it is always good to have a mix of the old and the new! Here are some must haves for your spring break playlist:
1. Ride With Me- Nelly

If you have ever driven down the coast with the windows down blasting some good old throwbacks, you know “Ride with Me,” by Nelly will always get you in the mood for a good time. The beat is simple and gives a little summer feel. Also, I know you all can sing every single word. Now, what's more fun than being on a road trip or just jammin’ out on the beach and having a hyped up sing along with all of your friends?
2. Ms. Jackson- Outkast
Ms. Jackson just takes you back to a nostalgic time and straight up just makes you want to sing at the top of your lungs and dance. You can never really go wrong with Outkast, but “Ms. Jackson” is always a crowd pleaser.
3. Party in the USA- Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus has been through many changes, both personal and stylistic, but it is unarguable that “Party in the USA” Miley won over everyone’s hearts. “Party in the USA,” makes you feel alive every day of the year, not just on the 4th of July. If you want to dance on a table and feel great about life this is always a go to song.
4. Sk8er Boi- Avril Lavigne
This song is pretty hard to not scream at the top of your lungs. This song is basically a time portal back to middle school that will make you want to hit up your seventh-grade crush.
5. Tipsy- J-Kwon
This song has been a banger since the day it came out. These days, most people want to listen to aggressive songs that can be found slapping at the frats but when this song comes on the entire dance floor is always filled immediately. No matter where you are: Cabo, Europe, or visiting your grandparents in Florida this is a song that must be played to make your spring break a great one.
6. Booty Bounce Bopper- The Pack
This song will let your wild side come out to play. We all need to dance it out sometimes and this song will make you shake it like a salt shaker no matter who you are!
7. 679 (feat Monty)- Fetty Wap
This song 10/10 would recommend. In the past year, it has become a classic and therefor an essential song for a good time. You just feel like the (frat) queen of the world when it comes on.
8. TLC- No Scrubs
All the ladies in the house will break lose and break out into a choreographed dance when this song comes on.
