Spring Break Bod for the Person That Doesn't Enjoy Traditional Exercise

Spring Break Bod for the Person That Doesn't Enjoy Traditional Exercise

It’s that time of year again, and you just booked your condo at the beach. You’re all excited until suddenly you think, “How am I going to put on a swim suit?” That’s what I thought, too. I am not a fan of traditional exercise, and I believe I am not alone. I wanted to find other ways to be healthy and happy for the beach.

Here’s a list of 7 untraditional ways to get ready for the beach trip in a few short weeks:

1. Remember that you are beautiful, exactly the way you are. You should not exercise to look skinny, but rather exercise to be healthy and happy with the way you look.

2. Drink lots of water. There are a lot of bonuses to drinking a ton of water everyday. For example, drinking lots of water makes your skin less likely to break out, you naturally lose weight because you feel fuller so you tend not to over eat, and water helps you to stay focused and alert. Water also makes you feel better in general!

3. Skip out on the shuttle, take a walk. Especially on those periodic, warmer, almost spring-like days. Plus, taking a walk with a friend is bonus catch up time that would get lost on the awkwardness of the shuttle.

4. Stand up while watching TV or Netflix. Lounging around all day can make you feel like lounging around even more. Also, standing has similar benefits to walking!

5. Find healthy ways to motivate yourself. Do squats while watching Friends on Netflix, exercise during commercials, set small, attainable goals, or ask a friend to help keep you accountable.

6. Get plenty of sleep. Recognize when your body is telling you it needs to rest, and let it rest!

7. Don’t get caught up in other people. Some people enjoy going to the gym and hitting the weights, some people don’t. That’s okay. Find what works for you and stop comparing yourself to people who are different than you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
