Spring Break, As Told by A College Senior via Project Runway

It's lit.

It's finally spring break, and I'm probably the happiest person ever about that. I've been waiting an entire year for this break to happen, and it's finally here. I'm pretty sure most college students are also super happy about this break, too and that we can all kind of relate to this article.

When a professor thinks it's adorable to assign homework over the break. It's a break for a reason.

When someone thinks that you don't have any plans just because you're staying in your dorm.

When you make super cool plans with someone, but they end up bailing on you to do absolutely nothing.

When you're enjoying your plans and see something that you shouldn't have seen.

When it's your last spring break as an undergrad, and someone makes the lamest plans one could ever think of.

When you tell someone your plans and they find a need to judge them as if they're the ones that are going to go out and do them with you themselves, when they're not even part of them to begin with.

When you're out having a great time, but someone tries causing a scene and saying that you and your thoughts are full of shit when they don't even know you.

When you decide to branch out and encounter something amazing that you wish you would've known about sooner.

When you're literally all on your own for food and low-key start missing the Starbucks on campus that nobody told you would be closed over break.

When you're just coming back to your place from amazing plans just a tad bit too lit, pass out, and wake up the next morning as if nothing happened.

When things literally decide to rain on your parade and wonder what you've done to deserve this.

When you know of no limits and just want to enjoy yourself while you're young and in college.

When someone is trying to purposefully ruin your break just because their break sucks and they can't stand to see you having fun.

When spring break is coming to an end and you just don't know how to feel about that.

When break is actually over and you don't know what to do, how to act, where you are, and what you should be doing.

When you have to get back in the groove of things but just don't know how.

When you wish it was still spring break, but realize that it's not and end up slightly confused as to why you're in class.

When someone tries to tell you that their spring break was a million times better than yours, but you know that deep down inside, what they're saying is all a lie and that their break doesn't even compare to your break.

When you're really struggling to get back into reality after break and can't hide your feelings for any longer.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
