Spread Love Wherever and Whenever You Can

With all of the hate that has accumulated with the recent election, I think that it is time for us to spread love wherever and whenever we can. This has nothing to do with your beliefs or who you voted for, this has to do with loving on your neighbor and helping out the less fortunate.

This week as you go along completing daily tasks, be on the lookout for helpful situations. This does not have to be anything major, but little things can help make someones day just a little bit brighter. For example, hold the door for someone, pay for someones meal in line at a fast food restaurant, donate that dollar they ask you about when checking out at the grocery store. These are things that should be second nature to us because they are simple and easy to do. They do not take a lot of time and energy, but they can make someones day so much better. Another thing that will help us as a community and as people grow closer is just simply smiling at one another. A small gesture that shows kindness can open up so many doors for happy and light conversations.

Another big thing that we can do to spread love wherever and whenever we can is by giving people time! Many of us (myself included) have become too wrapped up in the busyness of our daily lives. We forget to sit down and listen to what other people are going through. We become numb to outer problems unless we are someone we are very close to is involved. By just giving people time, whether it is face-to-face, or over the phone, will help people know that someone cares and that someone is there to help them through the daily struggles of life.

I am not saying that everyone has the calling or desire to go out and save the world, but I think we are all capable or showing and wanting to receive love from the people around us. If everyone took the step to make someone else's day just a little but brighter, the world would be a much more peaceful and happy place. Spread love whenever and wherever you can and lets see the impact it has not only in our communities, but in the world as a whole.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
