Although this semester is quickly coming to an end and the many students of Boston are planning their summers at home, there are plenty of people who stay in the city to work or take classes. If you're one of them, take this opportunity to explore everything Boston has to offer! When seeking ideas for some fun, summer activities, the traditional response would be to catch a game at Fenway or take a trip to the MFA. They're both great, but try taking a less conventional route. Get out there and really explore. Here are some of the city's best "secret" spots to check out this summer!

1. Bodega

6 Clearway St, Boston, MA 02115

Everything is not what it seems in this tiny, hole-in-the-wall shop. While it appears to be your every day, go-to convenient store, it's actually a discrete shoe shop that sells some of today's most stylish sneakers. Check it out if you want to be the coolest kid on the block.

2. South End Open Market (SoWa)

375 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02118

This outdoor flea market offers anything from funky crafts to delicious food. It's the perfect way to spend your day if you want unique finds at an affordable price. NOTE: It's only open from May to October, so don't miss it!

3. Boston Harbor Mini Speedboats

85 E India Row, Boston, MA, 02110

Navigate your way through the Boston Harbor on mini speedboats that you get to drive. You can see the several historical landmarks that the Harbor has to offer while still going on an adventure!

4. Backbar

7 Sanborn Court, Somerville, MA 02143

Try some of the city's best cocktails in this low key, industrial bar. The only way to find this hidden treasure is if you're wandering down alley ways and keeping a close eye. If you find a red door, you're in the right place.

5. Astronomy After Hours - Museum of Science

1 Science Park, Boston, MA 02114

For the science geek in all of us, spend your Friday night gazing up at the stars on the rooftop of the Museum of Science. It's the perfect idea for an unordinary nigh with your friends or even a date! Again, this is only offered seasonally, so make sure you get there!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
