Spirit Animals: Plausible Idea Or Complete Garbage?

Is it possible that humans have a connection with animals?

For the short amount of time that humanity has existed, our own conscious specie of humans has always lived along side our less intelligent and possibly conscience-less species of different animals. Considering the different personality types seen in our kind has always brought the question of whether or not we are spiritually connected to other animals. Is it possible? I don't know, I just know I've met people who seem like personified dogs or cats, or even snakes (not looking at my ex. That would be cruel). The part about actually being connected by something explainable to different animals may be b.s., but there are still good comparisons out there, such as the ones I have already made. Here are a few more I have come up with:

1. The Sloth

The Sloth is a slow, docile soul who has no means to protect itself or hurt others, but they are rather friendly and very open to others. Nobody can hate the Sloth, but it is not hard to find the weakness inside them and prey upon them. They hate no one and have only friends, no enemies, but they must rely on those more powerful to not be eaten alive (metaphorically).

2. The Lion

The Lion is a regal beast who is at the top of the food chain, understandably so, with its power and might. But the Lion is prideful and perhaps a bit narcissistic because of its pride. The Lion may be strong, but it is not particularly intelligent, a mix that can cause any fool his downfall. The Lion is predatory and therefore will only have friends that are its equal.

3. The Eagle

The Eagle is not a powerhouse like the Lion, but is a balanced mix of power and intelligence. They go with the flow and watch the world around them with an intense glare that focuses on anything it considers to be of interest. The Eagle isn't the friendliest, but they are genuine and should be considered to be a true friend because of their honesty. The Eagle is also vigilant.

4. The Crow

The Crow is relatively weak, but where they lack in strength they make up in intelligence. The Crow is attentive to its surroundings and can deduce things in a brisk manner. The Crow is also cunning and has many friends, but they are not to be 100% trusted. Only when there is a mutual benefit can the Crow truly be called a companion.

5. The Dog

The Dog is fantastically friendly and is easily the most social. The Dog, despite being so friendly, can still read untrustworthiness on those who do not mean well. His nature brings others together despite differences, but also can annoy those who are more introverted and have a preference to deep, critical thinking. They can still get along fine for short periods of time though.

There are many more animals who are easily comparable to humans, but these are the ones I have come up with so far. If you want to find what animal best represents you, figure out who you are as a person. Not who you think you are or who you want to be, but simply the person who currently are at the moment. Your complete honesty with yourself will allow you to be realistic in your decision of which is your spirit animal.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
