The third movie in the Captain America trilogy is coming to theaters on May 6, and I am beyond excited to see some of the greatest Marvel heroes duke it out.
I have to admit something, though, and that is I have become a traitor to Captain America's team and have decided to put my loyalties towards Irons Man's team. The reason for me doing this can be summed up by one teenage superhero who is named after one of the biggest phobias in the world. Are you ready? Are you sure you are ready? Alright, I believe you. This superhero who caused me to switch sides is none other than...........SPIDERMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, Spiderman is finally going to be included in the Marvel cinematic universe! Now you might be groining that they are doing a third live action reboot of Spiderman, but trust me when I say that this will be the best Spiderman that has ever hit the big screen. Tom Holland is the actor who is portraying Peter Parker this time around and I must say that this will be the most comic accurate Spiderman yet for three reasons.
First, Tom Holland is the perfect actor to play Peter Parker/Spiderman because of his age. You see in most of Spiderman's comics he is only a teenager as he fights crime. In the first two live action adaptations of Spiderman, he was either a senior in high school or in college and while this does happen in the comics it is not when Peter Parker becomes Spiderman. I believe that Holland's Spiderman will be around 16 or 17 years old in Civil War, and in this movie, he has only been Spiderman for around 6 months, so it will give a very interesting look into how Peter Parker adjusts to being Spiderman at such a young age.
Second, Spiderman is finally going to be interacting with the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, Ant Man, etc. His first two adaptions took place in his own universe where no other Marvel heroes existed. In the comics, Spiderman works with these other heroes many times, so it will be so amazing to finally see him fight alongside and against some of these heroes on the big screen.
Finally, this Spiderman costume is the most comic book accurate out of the three suits that have been used. Now granted this suit is entirely CGI produced, but it does not take away from how awesome it looks. It looks like they took the suit straight out of the comics and put it through a CGI program, which is why this suit looks the best.
Now you might be asking how any of these reasons caused me to switch to Iron Man's side from captain America's side, but it was Iron Man tugging at my childhood memories that made me decide on the switch, even though I agree with the idea that Captain America's side stands for.
You see Captain America Civil War is taking place because the governments of the world want to have more control of all of the heroes as there has been a lot of collateral damage from the fights of these heroes around the world, even though they saved millions of lives. Captain America disagrees with this idea and thinks that heroes should be able to act without getting permission from the government, while Iron Man believes that they the heroes do need to be held accountable for their actions. This is where sides form and a epic fight will take place to determine the winner.
There is also the issue of Bucky Barnes, The Winter Soldier, who is Captain America's best friend from World War II. Bucky has been brainwashed in becoming a hydra Assassin and has killed many people and Iron Man believes that he needs to be brought to justice, while Captain America wants to protect his best friend as he had no control over his actions.
Now you can see why I would like to root for Captain America's side, but Spiderman choosing Iron Man's side has moved me to switch. This is because Spiderman is my favorite Marvel Hero and I grew up watching the late 90s and early 2000s animated series. I am a Spiderman fan boy. I also believe that Iron Man is going to be the correct side in this fight because Spiderman is one of the most morally correct heroes in all of comics and if he believes that Iron man's side is the right side then I 100 percent support him.
Comment below who's side you will be rooting for come May 6th and just so you know I might have screamed like a little girl when Spiderman makes his first appearance for Civil War. I am sure you will too after you watch the trailer below.
