Spider-Man is one of the most popular superheroes in Marvel history. However, this "reboot" of the web-slinging franchise may be causing more harm than good. Some think this is the opportunity to finally get Peter Parker's character right, while others believe this is a wasted effort. Is it really worth it? What was wrong with the previous films? People argue back and forth, but there seems to be no answers to their questions. Not yet, anyway. Lets take a look at the reasons behind their arguing, shall we?
Reasons to oppose the second remake of the Spider-Man franchise.
1. So far, it seems to be a waste of money. Why can't you just leave it be? The franchise won't grow and produce money if it keeps getting scrapped. It's slowly destroying Spider-Man as a superhero.
2. No one wants to see the same variation of the same movie repeatedly with no real difference from the previous films.
3. You fall in love with the characters, then they pull the rug out from under you and replace them with a brand new cast and director. How is that fair? I for one thought Andrew Garfield was an excellent Spider-Man, however, Marvel seems to disagree.
4. With the same film being produced, fans are starting to lose interest. If the first remake was a bust, why should the second one be any better?
Reasons to approve the second remake of the Spider-Man franchise.
1. The producers are finally going to follow the comic books. That means Peter Parker's parents, enemies, personal struggles, love life, the whole nine yards. Getting the facts straight is important to all fans, most importantly to the comic nerds.
2. Since Marvel has the rights to Spider-Man once again, he will most likely appear in the next Avengers film alongside the usual cast. I always found it unfair to not include Spider-Man in the Avenger movies, but since he was not owned my Marvel, he could not be in the films.
Sadly, there seems to be more downsides to remaking the Spider-Man films than upsides. However, if the producers make things right and add the missing details needed to make the film a success, then it might prove to be worthwhile. Even though they are remaking Spider-Man once again, I will still watch the new films because he is my favorite superhero. Hopefully, the third time will be the charm and will show how Spider-Man is the best superhero around.
