If you’re anything like me, the cold is not your forte, but during the Winter, we do not have much of a choice. So, what do we do? Even when the weather is cold and dreary, there is plenty that we can do inside. Some activities can be relaxing and rejuvenating; while others are productive and motivated. Everybody is different. We all like different things, but that doesn’t mean our activities have to be limited just because we are stuck inside.
I enjoy spending those damp, grey days inside wrapped in fluffy blankets. I feel comfortable and content watching a movie or reading a book while sipping a warm cup of mint tea. However, on other days when I am feeling motivated, I prefer to spend time catching up on assignments, cleaning, or creating something to keep my hands and brain working.
Even if you are somebody who prefers to be outside, you should know that there are copious options when it comes to activities. Being inside doesn’t have to be boring. One’s attitude determines how they feel in the end. If they look at being inside as being negative, they are more likely to feel depressed, melancholy, or bored; whereas, someone with a positive attitude about being indoors is more likely to feel content and relaxed.
For college students, staying inside can be quite the relief. It is a time for us to get caught up on our assignments, catch up on sleep, relax with a hot shower or nap, or spending quality time with friends. For families, staying inside is a great way to build a stronger connection, whether it be made by building puzzles or playing board games, spending time together is a great way to feel closer together.
Some people struggle to decide what to do, but we all need to learn that the options are truly endless. Here is a short list of activities that anyone can do when they are stuck inside on a dark, wet, dreary day.
