Some people begin thinking about the days when they will join a sorority in high school, while others just kind of stumble upon it. No matter how it happens, and no matter the sorority you choose, I can promise you that it will change your life. Your recruitment period will be an emotional roller coaster, but there is one species that really understands the struggle with you.
Getting ready for the first party like:
You know it is time to go flirt with strangers for several hours.
When you walk into your first party and really want your smile to stand out:
"Hey, hey, hey. Don't cut me!"
How you feel after introducing yourself over and over:
It is just a part of the process. You will get use to it after awhile.
When you find out about the financial commitment of each one:
Then you realize that it is all worth because you aren't actually "paying for your friends." These girls are real.
How you feel when you finally make it in after the first night and get to change and take your makeup off:
All that flirting makes you tired.
When you find out someone cut you after the first night:
Then you realize you did not like them that much anyway:
When it comes to recruitment, everything does happen for a reason.
Walking in the next day to the groups you were not cut from:
"Look at me now, ladies!"
When you walk into the party of a sorority you truly want a bid from:
You do anything you can to impress them.
When you are in class the next day thinking about how amazing you felt about last night:
You know you said some awesome things, and you can only hope the sorority felt the same way.
The night you get invited to the Preference Round and have to look your best:
The night before finding out who you got a bid from:
This night is the worst of them all.
Literal moments before receiving your bid:
Then, when you get your bid from your favorite sorority, you're all:
There is no stopping you now.
When you go back to your dorm after bid night:
When you are able to change all of your social media accounts to show your letters:
All social media accounts get flashed.
Later, realizing you made one of the best choices of your life:
Your sorority sisters will be some of the greatest people in your life. It is not four years — it's forever.
