National
sorority recruitment has to be the one of the most fun, yet intimidating, experiences that for a college freshman. It’s two weeks of girl flirting and often
repeating the same facts over and over again. The events are long, and by the
end of the day, your face hurts from smiling so much. It is as if you are taking a
whole separate class that involves memorizing names and putting those names to
faces.
You spend time outside of rush events researching the sororities. You
become a detective trying to figure out things like how much dues are, and what
are the pledging processes like. It is as if bid day decides the fate of the
rest of your college career. Preference of sorority is definitely up
there for one of biggest life decisions you will ever make. As all the sisters
tell you about how much they wish they could go back to rush, you, on the other
hand, have 700 thoughts racing across your mind every second of
the day. Here are just a few of them as told by the characters of the new movie,
“Sisters.”
1. The outfit I am wearing has to be perfect.
2. I have to let all my weird out before I get there so I don't scare people away.
3. I need to step out of my comfort zone and not stand in the corner by the food tonight.
4. Hold on, hold on, I have to quickly look over everything I know about the sorority so far.
5. My inner emotions when someone tells me the love the same sorority as me.
6. On the outside, I'm pretending to be happy for them so no one knows that I am actually crazy.
7. Hopefully, everything will go my way today and nothing I say will backfire on me.
8. I definitely don't think I should have said that. By the look she just gave me, she probably thinks I am insane now.
9. Don't bring up anything about parties -- I can't show my raging alcoholic side yet.
10. I have to pretend to be amazed by hearing the same things over and over again.
11. After today, I no longer have the motivation to do anything and just want my bed.
