7 Dates To Go On With Your Sorority Buddy That Aren't Coffee Or Dinner

Yes, going to get coffee or dinner is nice, but here are some fun activities you could do!

In my sorority, every week we get a buddy who is an initiated member, and we are supposed to meet up with them. It is a nice way to gradually get to know your sisters and see if there is anyone you would want for a big. So far, I have gone to get coffee and to dinner with my buddies. It is a lot of fun, but I have put a list together of things you could do that involves being a little more active.

1. Mini golf.

Mini golf is such a chill activity. You don't need to be athletic at all and, if you're with the right people, it can be a lot of fun. You really can't go wrong with this. It is more fun than dinner because if you struggle with having a conversation, then you can just talk about how bad you're doing.

2. Take a hike.

At my school, there is a park called Lake Claire and they have a trail near it that you can walk on. If you hike with your buddy, it'll be fun because you get to experience something new together.

3. Go bowling.

This is kind of like mini golf in the sense that you don't have to be athletic and it's fun to joke around with. I am so bad at bowling, but I always have a great time because I just joke around with my friend at how bad I'm doing.

4. Go shopping.

Do you hate shopping? Yeah, it isn't my favorite thing either. However, if you go with friends then it is so much more fun. Personally, I am not good at picking out what looks good on me so it's nice to go with someone that can help. Not only do you get to spend your money, but you also get to bond with your buddy over a new wardrobe.

5. Go somewhere you both haven't been to before.

If you are new to the town, or even if you aren't, go explore. Find something you and your buddy have never done or go somewhere you both haven't been to before. The world is your oyster - explore as much as you can.

6. Go to a school football game together.

You are, hopefully, cheering on the same team, so why not do it together? Even if you don't like football, these games are one of the biggest events that bring the community together. Show your love for your school the best way you know how with your new found sisters.

7. Meet up before a sorority event.

Earlier last week, my sorority went roller skating. Before, my buddy and I met up to eat pizza and go to the event together. It was so nice to go to the event with someone, and being in the car together is actually a great way to bond. Not only can you have random conversations, but you also learn about each other in different ways. For example, you can learn a lot from someone's driving, their road rage, or what kind of music they like to listen to.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
