Now that it's August, it doesn't mean summer is over quite yet. Many colleges don't start classes for another three or four weeks! Don't worry, I won't talk about school any more in this article. Whether you're working, traveling, or lounging by a pool, these are some songs from various genres you should be listening to right now!

1. "Don't Let Me Down" by The Chainsmokers feat. Daya.

This song is perfect for driving with the windows down because it's upbeat and catchy.

2. "Ride" by Twenty One Pilots.

Another catchy song. I think this one is perfect for hanging out with friends because who doesn't love Twenty One Pilots?

3. "Lush Life" by Zara Larsson.

This song is perfect for an evening get-together with friends. It even talks about summer!

4. "Cheap Thrills" by Sia.

Since this has been many people's summer anthem, I had to include it here.

5. "ILYSB - STRIPPED" by LANY.

This is the perfect summer chill song. I love this stripped version!

6. "Spirits" by The Strumbellas.

I have been listening to this song on repeat recently. I first heard it on the ALT Nation Sirius XM station, but I have a feeling this song will be everywhere before the end of summer.

7. "YOUTH" by Troye Sivan.

This song is perfect for singing along in the car!

8. "Lover Come Back" by City And Colour.

This is another song I've been listening to on repeat this summer. Although it came out in 2015, I hadn't heard it until this summer. It's a great chill song. I can just imagine someone with a guitar performing an acoustic version around a campfire.

9. "From The Ground Up" by Dan + Shay.

This is the perfect song to play for that very special someone. The lyrics tell a beautiful story of a couple's journey through life. I could see this song being played at a beautiful summer wedding.

10. "Wasn't That Drunk" by Josh Abbott Band feat. Carly Pearce.

This is a country song that's growing more popular. It's really catchy and a great song to jam to when driving around on a summer evening.

11. "Castaway" by Zac Brown Band.

I couldn't think of a better song to listen to while laying out by the pool or in a warm summery place. This upbeat country song is perfect for all those country vibes you want to soak up.

12. "All These Things That I've Done" by The Killers.

Ever since I saw The Killers at Bunbury Music Festival, this song has been on my summer playlist. Although the song was released in 2004, I still think it's a perfect for a playlist in 2016. This is another great song to sing along to during an evening get-together with friends.

13. "On My Mind" by Ellie Goulding.

Like the previous song, this one is also great for evening festivities with friends.

14. "Rollercoaster" by Bleachers.

Rollercoaster is about a summer romance and it's catchy, which makes it perfect for your summer playlist.

15. "Said No One Ever" by Jana Kramer.

It's a great song if you like girl-power songs and it's also super catchy!

Bonus: Jana Kramer will be performing in the Dayton area on August 14th!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
