We all have that song that can really change our mood, make us think, or help us overcome an issue. Music has always been a part of my life, even though I feel that everyone can say that about music. The beauty of music is that there is so much music that there has to be that one song that makes someone feel a certain way. So here are my top 8 songs that made me change the way I see somethings.

1. Atmosphere - Yesterday

I found this song a couple years back and always had some heavy feelings every time I would listen to the song. Atmosphere raps about how he saw someone he walked by the other day that reminded him of someone close. Throughout the song he raps why he misses that person, and why they went separate ways. This song doesn't relate to a specific person to me, but the concept of relationships between friends that I have lost touch with throughout my life. This song reminds me that I should make amends with broken relationships in the case one day I won't be able to see that person again.

2. Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

I know this is a catchy song that doesn't have any deep message, but every time I hear this song, I remember the one line, "our work is never over". This one line makes me realize the type of work that I do in my career. I help people, and this line is the constant reminder that this work will never be over. This is the drive I use to continue to pursue my career because of the calling to help people and how this will be a job that will never be over.

3. Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon

I really love this song, especially the line, "maybe if I was a jerk to girls, instead of speaking nice words, maybe it would be okay to say then, I wasn't a good guy to begin with". Kid Cudi has always been different than the more mainstream rappers, and with this being released when he was starting to become big, this is a powerful statement expressing that he wasn't going to objectify women. This is then reinforced when later in the song when he raps, "I'm somethin' different in all aspects, don't want a woman just to love her assets. I still wife her up even with her flat chest. The type to get hurt, but that's the past tense". Kid Cudi expressed that he would love someone for who they are, not how they look which is a big statement coming from a genre of music that raps on the appearance of women.

4. Justice - Stress

I believe that this is the song of being stressed. The song is uncomfortable to listen to with headphones on, and the constant noises coming together makes the listener have a sense of panic. This song brings the feeling of dread and chaos that we may feel from time to time in our lives. With the constant noises blasting back in forth, you can begin to hear how synchronized all the noises come together to make the song. I know many people love this song, and when I saw this band in concert, we in the crowd were extra amped and loud when they began to perform this song. This made me wonder, why did we want the chaos this song brought us?

5. César Franck - Violin Sonata in A Major

What I love about this piece is the constant struggle to identify if this is a song to feel happiness or sadness. With the violin and the piano playing throughout the piece, I always enjoy how calm the violin plays, but as the song goes on the violin begins to have a harsher noise, but is still in some ways, still just as calm and soothing throughout the piece. This is a beautiful piece, and I strongly urge people to listen to this song when studying or wants to calm themselves down if they are amped up.

6. Childish Gambino - That Power (Outro)

Now this isn't the complete song, but only the outro. The rap part of the song is alright, but not why I love this song. Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) is telling a story about a girl that he met at camp and how on the way back from camp he expresses his feeling for her only to have a realization of who he is as a person today. I can relate to this song when I would get nervous to tell someone how I felt when I was in middle school. This outro is a form of story-telling that I would want to see more of in music.

7. Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

This song is pretty powerful. Even though this song was not originally written by Jeff Buckley, his voice along with the acoustic guitar is truly beautiful. The song is talking about different verses of the bible but then discusses what love truly means. The line, "Well there was a time when you let me know. What's really going on below, but now you never show that to me do ya, but remember when I moved in you, and the holy dove was moving too, and every breath we drew was Hallelujah". has always stuck to me of the people that have come and gone throughout my life.

8. Daft Punk - Human After All

With only one phrase in the entire song, "we are human after all", this cannot be a more true phrase that I have had to tell myself throughout my life. I know that sometimes we try to push away certain emotions that we may be feeling in our lives, but this song is the constant remind that we are still only human and that these are normal feelings a human person may have in their lives. I know in this time and age, we don't have to express how we may feel, or that we have to not react to specific issues in a certain way due to the fear of showing weakness, but as Daft Punk constantly repeats in this song, we are human after all.

I hoped you enjoyed this list. What are some songs that made you chage your persepctive of life? Be sure to leave your comment of songs that I should check and, and be sure to share with your friends. Thanks for reading!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
