I bet you have been asked these questions a million times.

"Where are you going to school?"

"What are you going to major in?"

People start asking you these questions the minute you step foot in to high school expecting you to have your whole life figured out. Most of the time, it will never work out that way. Odds are the minute you step foot in to High School you are going to have absolutely no idea.

Sometimes you have the answer and sometimes you don't. There are people out there who know right away what they want to do, it might be their calling but it isn't always that way for everyone. I still don't have the answer and I am in college about to be a sophomore. Attending community college is just as scary as going to college from high school. You have to start by choosing a school, then you have to claim a major if you haven't already as well as go through the application process, then it is a waiting game.

Things happen in life that might cause you to change your mind and your path of life, don't fight it! Different job opportunities come along, new doors open and show you new things. Every bad thing is an opportunity to make something good happen. Sometimes the easiest way to figure it out is to just take classes and if you don't like them then that's just another thing checked off the list.

Try getting used to stepping out of your comfort zone, and accepting the fact that life takes unexpected turns. Go out and pursue your dreams! Don't let anyone hold you back or tell you that you can't do anything. One of the biggest things is learning yourself, so you are able to question yourself and get to figure more things out about what you like to do.

Go out in the world and volunteer! Maybe even internship at a job you think might be interesting so you can get a feel for what the job is like and see what it would be like to be around people in that field.

Sometimes you hit a dead end when asked that question, all you have to do is sit back relax and do things that make you happy. Don't give up! You need to go out and try to figure out what you want to do with your life, it is okay to not know right away. Give everything a try and you will eventually find out what you will love doing for the rest of your life. Continue doing things that you love because who knows that might end up being the thing you fall back onto.

Life always changes and so do you, so you might not want to do the same thing forever. You will figure it out by going out and experiencing different things.

Don't be afraid to cross over the bridge. You might not know that whatever's on the other side could be the best thing that will ever happen to you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
