Sometimes we really need to look at ourselves in the mirror and see if we are happy with our lives. Losing friends isn't always the best thing to happen to us, but sometimes it's for the best. It allows us to evolve and grow as an individual. I have lost touch with friends in the past and a majority of them I really do miss, but for the select few that left my life, it was for the better.
One of the things we struggle with throughout our entire life is being accepted by other people. Trying to constantly prove to people that we can "fit in" and be with the "cool crowd". It's who we are as human. In most cases, we do find that one really good friend that supports and loves us. But sometimes these people don't turn out to be who we thought they were. I have dealt with this a few times in my life and it's honestly one of the most saddening things. They were once a person who knew everything about you. They knew your favorite food, favorite band, etc. but now they're just somebody that you used to know.
What we as people fail to realize is when someone isn't worth keeping around anymore. You really shouldn't keep someone in your life just because of fear of being alone. If someone doesn't truly support you for you, and help you grow as a person, they're not worth it. I don't really tolerate this type of behavior anymore. If someone starts to be shady with me, or just flat out rude, I nip it immediately. Over the years I've learned that we make countless friends over the years and the ones who really care about you will stick with you.
I won't lie, sometimes I can be much to handle. I can be rude and inconsiderate. But the thing is, everyone is sometimes. No one is perfect. That being said, that doesn't give people permission to justify behavior that results in constant bickering and fighting. You can be angry and pissed at the world all you want, but when you reflect it onto others, especially close friends, it's no surprise people will start to drop you like flies. If you choose to live like this, soon you'll end up no one. Life is way too short to be rude toward people, regardless of the reason.
All in all, this article wasn't meant to just drop all of your friends that seem pissed off every once in a while. Just be aware of your friends and people close to you. You don't deserve to associate yourself with people who don't support your goals and ambitions. You don't deserve to deal with people who blatantly choose to be insensitive and rude toward you, regardless of their personal life. I chose not to deal with this anymore, and I can say I am a lot happier with my life. I have reduced my stress levels and gained a bunch of new friends. The people in my life are wonderful, extraordinary people. To my old friends that I've lost touch with, just know that I will still always be here for you, no matter what. And to the people who I decided to let go of, thank you. Thank you for teaching me who and what I deserve. At one point you did indeed help me grow for the better, but as for now, you're just somebody that I used to know.
