The 4 Types of People Who Snapchat in Public

Everyone has done it. Whether it is on your own phone, a friend’s phone, or just in the background of some stranger’s phone, everyone is guilty of having sent or been in a Snapchat taken in public.

Each person is different in regards to Snapchatting in public.

There’s the…

1. "I don’t care what anyone thinks of me! I’m going to send whatever I want, whenever I want, to whomever I want."

This type of person has no care in the world. He or she will send the most embarrassing pictures, the most provocative or blatantly take of picture of something or someone else without even caring if someone notices. This is the No-Shame-Snapchatter, and these are the ones that get the dirtiest looks from other people.

2. "I’m going to try and be covert and take this Snapchat, but in reality, everyone sees me."

I applaud your effort, but we can all still see you. There’s no discreet way to take a selfie in public; people will notice, because who casually just takes a picture of themselves? You’re just making it worse by trying to hide it because then everyone is curious as to what you’re taking a picture of. These are the Closet-Snapchatters.

3. "I’m drunk, so I really need to snapchat all of my friends. Oh, wait! Or I can just make a story so everyone can see it!"

Snapchat is a drunk person’s worst nightmare. While it always seems like a good idea in the moment, when you wake up in the morning and have no recollection of what exactly you sent your ex or the person you’re trying to get with, that good idea now seems like a terrible idea. Once it’s sent, unless you save it, there is no way of knowing what you send, and no one wants to be that person to admit they don’t remember and ask what they send. That’s just awkward. Once all your inhibitions have been lost, snapchatting in public seems like the best idea in the world. Everything should be on your story! These are the Drunk-Snapchatters.

4. "I only snapchat pictures of other people and other things, never myself... unless I’m looking really good."

Okay, why have the app then? There’s no fun in always receiving pictures of irrelevant things. Either grow a pair and just send the ratchet picture, or delete the app. You’re sending pictures to friends, it’s not like they’ve never seen you at your worst. Relax. Besides, we all know we will see the good-looking pictures of you on Facebook or Instagram sometime soon anyways. People don’t need to be seeing the fact that you’re at the grocery store. Stop sending produce pictures! If you’re already out and about looking the way you are, you shouldn’t be too embarrassed to send a picture that will disappear within 10 seconds. These are the Stubborn-Snapchatters.

There’s not much more too it. Either you’re a notorious public Snapchatter and fall into one of the above categories, or you just don’t do it whatsoever. In the end, taking a picture of yourself in public will draw attention.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
