In my early years of high school, I didn't have the best skin and it was something I was always very insecure and sensitive about. I hadn't yet discovered makeup and couldn't exactly hide behind my skin. I decided to take matters into my own hands and take control of my skin. Personally, your skin is far more than genetics - your skin is a reflection of how you treat your body. After years of experimenting with different products, I finally found the perfect combination routine for my skin.

Step 1: Facial Cleanser.

Face cleanser is SO important. When picking the facial cleanser for you, you have to determine two things: what kind of skin do you have and what do you want the cleanser to do for your skin? I have combination oily/dry skin and I needed a soap that could keep my skin balanced, hydrated, and prevent breakouts. After literal years and years of searching, I stumbled on my holy grail...

Step 2: Facial spray/toner.

Next, I spray my face with a facial spray. Facial sprays/toners are important because they help boost your skin, hydrate your skin, and minimize pores. I personally use a different spray in the morning and night - personal preference. In the mornings after washing my face I like to spray my face with Mario Badescu's Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater - I prefer this spray for the daytime as it moisturizes my skin and gives it a nicer glow! Before bed, I change my skincare routine slightly intensifying it so in the nights I prefer to use the Glycolic Acid Toner by Mario Badescu as it works to balance and prevent my skin's prone to oiliness and yet hydrating it.

Step 3: Moisturizer.

Lately, I've also begun experimenting with under eye creams. As of now, I'm pretty satisfied with Kiehl's Rosa Artica Eye Cream! A true anti-aging cream, this unique formula helps to smooth out any wrinkles and brighten up those dark circles! I apply this right before my moisturizer ideally.

Moisturizer is an uber important to skincare and honestly one of the most important steps in a skincare routine. Properly moisturizing your skin can lead to healthier and cleaner skin - as well as younger-looking! My summer fascination this year is my utter fear of aging and signs of aging on my skin. Ergo, moisturizers and facial creams are my kryptonite.

I've always stayed loyal to Clinique when it comes to skin products because I feel as though they are one of the few brands that pretty much suits any and all skin types and conditions. My obsession is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. I apply the lotion all over my face and neck twice a day. A little goes a long way with this moisturizer!

Other Habits Can Affect Your Skin Too!

Your skin truly is a reflection of what's going on inside. Here are a few more tips in maintaining the best and healthiest skin possible.

Water is a major key in proper skincare. Always opt for water instead of soda!! When you're hydrated, so is your skin!

Avoid touching your face as much as possible - the oil and dirt in your fingertips are uber harmful to your skin.

Sunscreen is your friend.

What you put in your body is just as important as what you put on, in regards to skincare. Try being mindful of what you eat. Everything is good in moderation. If you find yourself over-indulging in dairy products or foods that are very high in sodium such as potato chips or fast food you could be facing the main contributor to oily/unhealthy skin!

Clean your face as soon as you finish working out! I personally carry face wipes with me in my backpack and as soon as I leave the gym use a wipe!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
