College is an awesome place where you are finally on your own. Some of the best times and memories will be made while in college. This will also be a time where you experience tremendous amounts of stress. In college, you begin to learn more about yourself and what you want to do with your life. Here are a few things that you learn from college.

1. Freedom

You finally get to be away from home and parents to live on your own. You have freedom to decide and make choices for yourself. With freedom comes great responsibility because what you decide to do with this new found freedom will shape who you are.

2. You're not in High School Anymore

College is a big step up from high school academics. In high school, you could afford to study the night before or do your homework right before class. However, that is not the case in college. You need to be prepared for class and study a few days in advance to be successful academically. You don't get study guides like you use to get in high school. Each year of college you will find out you will need to put more and more effort into your studies and academics.

3. You Mature

With each year of college, you will become more mature. You will start thinking about your future and what you want to do with it. You will begin making important life choices. You will start to become more independent.

4. Sleep

You start to realize in college that you won't get sleep. The nights seem to get longer and longer as the semester continues. You also realize how vital sleep is and that taking naps are the key to getting some shut eye.

5. You Will Have to Teach Yourself

Professors expect you to have read and taken notes on the material before class. They will then briefly go over main topics and talk about what they think is most important. Professors will not go in detail and in depth on the topics unless questions are asked. Professors have limited time on what they can go over in class. You learn to teach yourself the material for classes.

6. You Meet some Great People

You will meet a lot of unique and awesome people in college. You will make some great life long friends. You will create moments and memories with the people you meet. Enjoy the time at college with those people and be outgoing to keep meeting new people.

College is a wonderful time to start maturing and make friends for life. You begin to really found who you are and what you want to do with your life. At first, college can be a learning curve to some. However, you will soon begin to navigate through college to make yourself become successful.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
