If you are like me, you have realized that January is coming to a close and February is right around the corner. The worst part is, we have made our resolutions and probably have forgotten them by now. The reason for this is that we make our resolutions too hard. Saying we want to lose weight, go to the gym, and be a little happier can be hard if we don't have a plan to achieve these goals. I have thought of six simple New Years resolutions that will help me become a better person. Even though the first month of 2016 is ending, it isn't too late to make a change.
1. Drink more water.
I know we all love soda and other flavored drinks, but they can be really bad for you. Once in a while I need a Coke, but I am trying to drink as much water as I can. Even putting lemons or other fruits in your water can make a difference.
2. Get better grades.
I am trying not to be so broad, but I really need to start focusing on my school work more, not just my job and social life.
3. Get organized.
Getting organized can help me get better grades. I am trying to write down everything so I don't forget what I need to do.
4. Go to the gym four times a week.
Paying for my membership sometimes isn't enough for me to get up and go to the gym on my day off, so I try to reward myself with a Lush bath bomb if I go at the times I told myself I would.
5. Go to my 8am even though I am super tired.
As a working-full-time-commuter, I have to take 8ams so I can work more and come to campus less. Some days I don't want to leave my cute and sleepy boyfriend in bed and go out into the arctic, but i am paying for my education so I have to. Last semester, I had some problems with skipping class but I saw how it effected me.
6. Be more grateful.
Even though I complain about my job and my family sometimes, I have to sit back and think about how lucky I am to have a job that helps me pay for my school and a family who supports me.
2015 was a great year but I am excited to better myself in 2016.
