Sometimes you're sitting in a class and it feels like watching paint dry.
Torture, am I right? As a college student, I have sat through countless classes where no matter how hard I try I can't pay attention. Here's a list of the 10 things that go through my mind when sitting through a class that I'm absolutely not feeling.
1. Dread
You know you hate this class, and it's going to be the absolute worst.
2. Bargaining
You tell yourself that listening today will mean less studying for future you.
3. Optimism
There's fleeting moment where you think you're going to actually pay attention today. Maybe it won't be too bad.
4. Denial
By denial, I mean denial at how much time has actually passed because you realize it's going painfully slow.
5. Daydreaming
Just letting your mind wander to pass the time.
6. Frustration
You just checked the time, and it's literally been only 10 minutes since you've walked in.
7. Defeat
You tried to understand what was happening. You really, really did.
8. Sleepiness
The class has literally bored you to sleep.
9. And Now You're Dreaming
You have now made it to la-la-land.
10. Rude Awakening
Someone just rudely woke you up from your nap.
Hey, on the bright side, at least you made it through class! That's an accomplishment that you can kind of sort of be proud of. Proud of you.
