When I joined the Gamma Zeta chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha, I simply thought that I was joining a social sorority where I might find a few friends and have a few good times.
I had no idea that I would gain a sisterhood more precious than any other. The closeness and the sisterhood that I have felt within my chapter is one that will forever be held dear to my heart.
To my sisters: I love each and every one of you. You are all special girls who make our chapter so wonderfully unique. Every day that I walk into our house, I am proud to say that you are all my sisters. You all work so hard to make Zeta a positive, successful environment, and it works so well because you are all so wonderful!
Throughout this past year, you all have shown me time and time again that I can count on you if I ever needed anything, and I mean anything. From a shoulder to cry on to a sister to share a momentous event with, I know that you all are there for me. We are all there for each other.
Though we may fuss and fight like real sisters, we also stand up for each other against any odds, and we will fight for each other any day. I appreciate all of you so much, and I cannot wait to take on any adventures that come our way, together, because that’s what sisters do!
To every other sorority sister out there: sisterhood is a wonderful bond that I hope you have all experienced. Sisterhood is more than simply joining a sorority. It is the bond you make with each and every one of your sisters, and it is one that should never be taken for granted.
The next time you walk into your house, take the time to really appreciate all of your sisters. They are so important and deserve to be told every once in a while just how great they are, because these are the girls that will be your bridesmaids at your wedding, your Pretty Little Liars marathon partners and the people who pick you up when no one else can. Remind them that your sisterhood is a timeless bond, and that no matter the odds, it could never be broken.
