Sister

A bond that cannot be broken

Sister

To my role model, my sister and my friend.

sister - noun (sis-ter): a person who's been where you've been; someone you can call when things aren't going right; is more than just family; a sister is a forever friend.

You are one of the most amazing and inspiring people I have met in my life. It is a pleasure that I get to call you my sister. You've always encouraged me to be the best version of myself. Always loved me, supported me through everything life threw at me. You have always been there for me whenever I needed you. No one knows me like you do. I cannot begin to repay you for everything you have done for me.

I am beyond thankful that you are my sister. I could not have asked for a better role model. I have always admired your drive and the determination you have in everything you do in life. The mindset you have going into situations. Over everything else the love that you have for God.

You are getting ready to take on a new role in your life. The role of motherhood. I know you are going to be the best mother to your sweet baby girl. You have taught me so many things in my life that have helped me grow as a person and I know you will do the same for her. Thank you, for promoting me to Aunt Kenz, it wouldn't have happened without you. I am ready to watch the next chapter of your life unfold like you have watched so many of mine. I am so grateful that I have a front row seat to baby girl's life. To watch her grow, to love her, to hold her and to sow the same seeds into her that you did to me.

Thank you, for all the things you have done and continue to do for me. Thank you, for loving me, helping me and guiding me. Thank you, for all of your words of encouragement. You are truly a blessing.. I am so grateful I get to call you my sister. I would not be half the person I am today without you.

I love you,

Kenz

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
