Dear Single Moms,
I just want to start off by telling you that you are appreciated. You truly inspire me. Its not easy working 365 days a year without any breaks. Never showing weakness. Never complaining. Never giving up. If you haven't heard it yet today, you are a Super Hero. Endless hours of working, cleaning and cooking and you do it so effortlessly.
You women are the strongest people I know. You have constantly shown the good in life to your kids in times when it was hard for you to find yourself. It is impossible for me to thank you for everything that you have done.
You don't have the help of your child's dad. He may pay child support, but he’s not there emotionally and he believes you’re trying to make him out to be the bad guy. There are nights that you can't sleep because you’re stressed about your bills getting paid or the possibility of losing your job because you had to take more days off from work than you were allowed. You never complain.
After only getting a few hours of sleep, you prepare for 18 hour days. You get up early each morning to get yourself and everyone else in the house ready for the day. Fixing lunches, tying shoes, and making sure the science project that you finished last night is just right are all apart of your daily morning routine. You make it look so easy.
You spend your weekends at gymnasiums, fields, and other sporting venues in support of your kids. Each year you take and register them for their different extracurricular activities. Those Saturday mornings when the sun is beaming down on you, you sit and cheer in excitement as your child scores a goal. Cutting oranges, putting up and taking down tents, driving 40 minutes to and from games, and being their number one fan are only a few of the responsibilities you have during the sports seasons. What makes it even more awesome is the fact that you do all of this after working a 40 hour work week and there is no place you'd rather be.
You make it look easy to balance everything.
Thank you for being there during the heartbreaks and break-ups.
Thank you for demonstrating patience and understanding.
Thank you for never quitting the job that God blessed you with.
Thank you for all the late nights that you ran to the store at midnight for last minute projects.
Thank you for everything. Literally everything. From shoestrings to college tuition, you are the real MVP.
You are the best at what you do and nobody does it better.
To the rest of the world, you may be just another lawyer, teacher, doctor, accountant, waitress, or nurse.
But to the kids you have raised, you are truly Super Woman.
Love,
The product of an Awesome Single Mother
P.S. I love you mom. Thank you for everything.
