Dear Mom and Dad,
There are not enough words to describe how thankful I am for you both. I know I don't tell you thank you enough, but I love you more than anything. You both have taught me so much, and I have no idea who I'd be without you. The older I get, the more I realize why you did the things you did while I was growing up. I could sit here and tell you every single thing that I'm thankful for because of you but then this would just be entirely too long.
So I just want to say thank you:
The first, and most important thing I want to thank you for, is your unconditional love.
Thank you for wanting a child, and thank you for bringing me into this world.
Thank you for always being here for me, no matter what time of day.
Thank you for letting me know it was always OK to tell you anything.
Thank you for all of your support and encouragement.
Thank you for listening to me cry when I feel like the world is ending.
Thank you for making me laugh when I want to cry.
Thank you for you putting me in my place when my head is just too big.
Thank you for all the birthday parties, and thank you for the homecoming and prom dresses.
Thank you for the completely random "I love you" texts at just the right moments.
Thank you for working so hard to give me everything I NEEDED, and even some things that I just simply WANTED.
It doesn't matter how much I mess up or how big that mistake was, because you love me anyway. I never really understood how far your love for me went, and honestly I still don't. But I do know that you're there for me. You constantly remind me that you care about me, and that's something that every child should have. It took me a long time to realize that you fussed at me because you care. You corrected me because you care. You did EVERYTHING because you care.
Without you two as my parents, I don't know where I'd be in life. And our family hasn't always been perfect, no family is. But one thing I have noticed is that we love each other so much on a daily basis, but even more when tragedy strikes. We have the most open relationship out of all of my friends and their parents, and for that I'm grateful. We laugh together, cry together, and scream together. I wouldn't want it any other way. I want to give you two the world, and take care of you like you took care of me.
I love you so much, Mom and Dad.
Thanks for everything.
