It's getting close to Thanksgiving break. For me, it is the first time that I will be home since I left for school in August. It's also the first time that I will be away from the three girls that have become my sisters over the past few months. I don't know how I am going to survive a little less than a week without my partners in crime.
So, in lieu of the special day of thanks, I would like to thank my roommates for a few things.
Thank You For The Dance Parties
Remember that time when we had those really stressful weeks (almost all the time) but somehow we managed to make it through? It had to be because we turned on "Hold My Hand" or "Love Myself" and danced all the stress away. Thank you for letting me dance away my parties and helping me survive everything college, and life, has thrown my way.
Thank You For The Late Night Food Feasts
We started the year off healthy..... smoothie nights were the best kind of nights. However, we've surpassed the healthy and have stuck to pizza, fries and Chinese food. Not mad about it, though, because nothing tastes better than our late night food feasts. Do calories even count that late at night?
Thank You For Being My Personal Therapists
Remember that time where we had Nerf guns to help us let out our anger? Or those nights where I couldn't sleep because I was so upset about that thing that happened? Or when that really cute guy was sending me really cute texts and I needed help responding? Or when that asshole treated me like shit and you always had my back? Yeah, thanks for that ... can't get through my daily life struggles without you.
Thank You For Being My "At School" Moms
You know I hate my 8am. So, thanks for making sure I am up and hating the fact that I'm awake. Thanks for cleaning the shower and the toilet when it gets kind of gross. Thanks for taking out the trash when it starts to smell. Oh, and that time I needed you to take my laundry out of the dryer because I forgot....thank you. Sometimes my mind is in a million places, but you keep me on track.
Thank You For Being Spontaneous
Remember when we rented bikes at one in the morning and biked around the city? Or, that time we barely survived going to the Emergency Room? Or, the girls night out to get Italian food at 12 a.m.? I love being savages and saying and doing whatever we want, without caring about who judges us. Don't ever change that, especially when we are around all the boys that we wish we could avoid.
Thank You For Being My Sisters
You don't realize how living with someone can change you. Sometimes you hate them. Sometimes we're too loud. Sometimes we're too moody. Sometimes we're too stressed. But despite everything, somehow along the way I gained three new sisters that I can't picture my life without. We share everything and we know everything about each other. You're my family, and our families have become each other's families.
There's a lot more that I am thankful for.... but these are just some of the big things. So here is to the nights that turned into mornings with the friends who turned into family!
