Why Brooke Eden's "Silence Speaks" Is A Song You Need To Listen To Right Now

Brooke Eden, a new rising country artist just released her new EP album September 23. The album consisted of four songs; Diamonds, Act Like You Don’t, Sunday Mornin’, and Silence Speaks. While I was blown away about how great her new EP was, Silence Speaks really stuck with me and instantly the song was on repeat. Now everyone interprets songs and meanings of things differently, from this song I got that it was talking a break-up and the proper way to react.

Silence Speaks starts out by saying:

“I could be a mess, I could go to my best friend’s house we could eat ice cream on the couch, I could cry all night, lose sleep feeling sorry for myself.

I could carve my name in the side of your brand new truck, I could call your new girl, I could tell her what’s up, set your house on fire, call your momma say I’m sorry that her son’s a liar.”

Then Brooke proceeds to the chorus and says:

"But I won’t, cause I ain’t crazy, I’m a classy lady. And I ain’t wasting no more time on you. I bet you’re expecting some psycho ex-girlfriend but I don’t need words when silence speaks louder than, I hate you I never want to see you again, hell no sugar we ain’t ever gonna be friends no."

Although after a break-up, end of any type of relationship, or even when we receive terrible news our instant reactions tend to be our crazy side and it is easy to be in a depressed mood. You start to think of ways to pay this person back and how to hurt this person the same way they hurt you. By either destroying other relationships they have, exposing their lies, or even vandalize something of theirs if your thoughts are that crazy. You may even think, if you hate this person and treat this person poorly will make you feel better. You start to think of all this stuff out of hurt and anger. But in the end, none of this makes you feel any better if anything it just hurts you more.

But Brooke Eden said it right in the chorus, be a classy lady or man. Stop wasting your time on people who do you wrong. People love the chase, even though they won’t admit it. After a break-up silence kills, silences is what makes the person who did you wrong go crazy. They will instantly start thinking what you are doing, who you are hanging out with, etc. Make them miss you, make them regret everything they did to you because you are amazing and they are the ones missing out. They are the ones who do not deserve you if they are the one who walked away from you and didn’t see your true worth.

Also, there is no need to expose all of their lies to their new person or even their family and friends. Their true colors will eventually show, and karma will come around. Nothing speaks louder than silence. There is no need to be mean and talk about how much you hate them or how much they have hurt you. Live your life and don’t let other people bring you down, don’t waste your time on people who do you wrong. The best way to get over a relationship that hurt you is to go out, have fun, and meet new people. Forget the ones who don’t want to be a part of your life, they are the ones missing out. So stay humble, kind, and classy people

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
