You never really think that it's going to happen to you, but then it does. First, you're a freshman in high school, but then it melts into sophomore year and soon enough, you're standing on the high school's stage wearing a cap and gown. For anyone who may be struggling with it, here are some signs that you're growing up.

1. You're at your first job interview/you just got your first job.

And you've realized that work is much, much harder and more than just looking cute in a uniform and captioning your snapchats as "Workin' Gal" with a winky face.

2. You're noticing the little things in life mean the most.

3. You're taking things more seriously than ever before and you're considering where you might foresee a future.

4. Sometimes, you feel really wise, smart, educated, and woke.

Especially when giving advice to others. But, then, sometimes you also remember that you're not even legal yet...

5. A lot of your older friends are leaving soon and you're realizing how much life is going to be different without them.

You can't imagine sports without your beloved senior captain, and you're realizing that one day that could be you filling in their huge shoes.

6. You're realizing your parents are almost always right and you're valuing time with family and friends more than ever.

Because soon enough, you'll be at college and you will crave the feeling of being in your bed, eating your mom's homemade meals and sleeping over your friend's houses every single weekend.

7. You're scheduling your 6 hours, getting your permit, license, and learning how to drive.

You still aren't one hundred percent on your lefts and rights, though.

8. You're deciding your future and it doesn't feel real.

9. You cant wait for college, and know exactly where you want to go (or maybe you honestly don't know at all and you're struggling to decide what to do, and time is ticking.)

10. You're preparing for your SATs/ACTs.

You never thought this day would come, and you kind of feel like you're almost an adult.

11. You have some sort of idea of what field you want to major in, and what you want to be when you grow up.

12. You're overall becoming a more mature person

And a better one, too!

13. You go out with your "work friends" and it feels pretty cool.

You love the idea of going out with "work friends" because it just sounds so grown!

14. Every year you get closer to Graduation and it feels like just yesterday you were a tiny freshman lost in the halls.

15. Success and happiness are your long-term goals.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
