Sometimes being the quiet one in your family or friend group can be fun, and sometimes it's not. Regardless, here are 20 things that happen when you are considered to be the quiet girl.

1. You are often told to "speak up."

2. When you do speak up, you tend to get interrupted.

...or you're told to be quiet. You just never win.

3. People may think you're rude even though you're probably the nicest person in the room.

4. People often forget you're in the room.

This isn't so bad...until they start talking about you.

5. You always hear the same joke that you're either a psycho-killer or an evil genius.

6. Teachers like to call on you because they want you to participate more.

Please just let me be quiet in this corner by myself, please.

7. You deal with a lot of awkward silences.

8. You're really good at eavesdropping.

9. People come to you with all of the really good secrets.

10. For some reason, a lot of people really want to see you drunk.

11. You're really good at playing hide-n-seek because you can be quiet for hours.

12. You have no problem being alone.

Which means you are also good at entertaining yourself.

13. You often think of clever things to say after the situation.

Not like you would have said them anyway.

14. You dread holidays because you know you will have to answer about five dozen questions.

15. Only the people that really know you know that you actually do talk...quite a bit, too.

16. You get asked "What's wrong?" almost daily.

Nothing is wrong with me. I just don't like to talk every time there is some silence.

17. You actually like silence.

18. Flirting doesn't happen.

You flirting is just staring at your crush from across the room.

19. You never start the conversation unless you're feeling extra bold.

20. Public speaking is always a disaster.

Even if you're not nervous, usually people can't hear you...especially the people in the back of the room.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
