When it’s rainy, too cold to swim or tan, too late to do anything fun or on days when we are just feeling lazy, we binge watch. If there were a Netflix binge watching category in the Olympics, I’m pretty sure most of us would bring home the gold. But when you finish that awesome show you’ve been watching religiously for weeks, sometimes you just don’t know what to do with your free time anymore. Well, I have good news for you! Here are seven shows to binge-watch this summer. There’s a show for every occasion, and I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
1. "Life Unexpected"
This is a great show for when you want to watch something that can appeal to all of your emotions. "Life Unexpected" will make you laugh and cry all in one episode. This show follows the life of Lux Cassidy, a foster child who finally discovers who her biological parents are. She intends on finding them so that she can be emancipated but actually ends up being released into their custody. The show chronicles their heartwarming (and hilarious) journey to becoming a family. There are only two seasons, however, so you may be left wanting more.
2. "Pretty Little Liars"
Feel like watching something mysterious that will draw you in with every episode? Join the liars’ gang. This show follows four teen girls, after the leader of their clique disappears. After they slowly drift apart, they start getting mysterious (and sometimes threatening) messages from someone called “A” who threatens to expose their darkest secrets to the world. This show is a commitment, with six action-packed seasons (and counting).
3. "Gilmore Girls"
Want to laugh hysterically, cry of sheer happiness, and fall in love with a fictional town and its’ fictional inhabitants? This might be the show for you. This show follows single mother Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory, in their hilarious everyday life. Their home, Stars Hollow, Connecticut, is full of colorful characters that will make you smile like crazy. If you want to watch one of TIME Magazine’s All Time Top 100 Shows, "Gilmore Girls" is for you!
4. "Baby Daddy"
This is a funny Freeform comedy that follows a young man named Ben and his friends. After a one night stand, he is surprised with a baby on his doorstep. Ben decides to take care of his baby girl and be the best father he can be. This sitcom will keep you laughing and smiling throughout every episode.
5. "How I Met Your Mother"
"How I Met Your Mother" is the story of Ted Mosby, an architect in New York City, and his group of hilarious friends. This show is told mostly in flashbacks, as Ted Mosby tells his children the fantastic stories of how he ended up meeting their mother. Nine seasons later, Ted finally finishes telling his children their epic (and hysterical) love story. Teds stories are filled with eccentric humor and hilarious twists and turns. This show will leave you smiling for days to come.
6. "One Tree Hill"
Need some drama in your life? "One Tree Hill" tells the story of Lucas and Nathan Scott. The Scott boys are half-brothers, originally competing for a spot on the school basketball team. This leads to tons of drama, including (but not limited to,) evil fathers, heart conditions, rivalries, marriages and pregnancies all in nine seasons. This show will not disappoint in the drama department, with a few laughs and some heartwarming story lines mixed in.
7. "Friends"
When you need a real laugh, "Friends" will “be there for you.” "Friends" follows six friends living in Manhattan, and their adventures and experiences living in the city in their 20s. They all have different back stories, but they all have something great to bring to their friend group. So, stop by Central Perk, have a seat on the orange couch and have a laugh!
